Welcome to Monterey Bay Region’s Rideshare Week, October 6-10, 2008!
This year marks the 26th annual celebration of Rideshare Week. Rideshare Week is the Monterey Bay Region’s tri-county annual promotion designed to increase awareness about the benefits of using sustainable transportation such as carpooling, vanpooling, riding the bus, bicycling, walking, and telecommuting. Commuters are asked to make a commitment to use a sustainable form of transportation at least one day during Rideshare Week, October 6-10, in order to help relieve our congested streets and highways, improve air quality, and save energy resources and commute costs.
Rideshare Week aims to educate and remind individuals about their sustainable transportation choices. And, as a way to encourage commuters to try sustainable transportation, we offer many fabulous prizes including a grand prize of an eco-tour of your choosing! Winners guaranteed from Monterey, Santa Benito, and Santa Cruz counties. Eco-tour is valued at $1,000.
